“The important thing is not the experiences we have in life, but how we respond to them.” – Aldous Huxley
The brain continually maps everything we do, every action and intention of the body. These maps reinforce our attitudes and behaviors, maintaining habitual ways of acting and thinking; however, both the brain maps and the body are plastic and malleable, capable of reorganizing themselves in response to new practices and experiences.
The formative practice works with somatic-cortical plasticity, deepening the relationship between body and brain to influence patterns of acting, feeling and thinking and their corresponding maps. In this workshop we will work with simple exercises, using voluntary micro movements to reorganize emotional attitudes and behaviors and form new habits for living.
