"The story you tell is the story you live" – Stanley Keleman
Every family is a living body, an interconnected system with its own way of functioning, maintained by all its members. Throughout our growth, we learn what is accepted and what is not, what is expected and appreciated and what is unwelcome. We form patterns of expression, emotional responses, behaviors, and narratives that we embody in muscular postures with varying degrees of firmness, intensity, or gentleness; we assume roles that we practice, repeat, and stabilize in order to be accepted. In this workshop, we will explore the muscular-emotional postures we learn in the family and the stories that accompany them, and use formative exercises to reorganize habitual attitudes and behaviors. We will learn to form new relational postures and create narratives that express a personal adult reality distinct from the family narrative.
